Loggins Corner - Traffic Signal Project for US Highway 129

Loggins Corner is located at the intersection of US Highway 129 and Old Pendergrass Rd. in Jefferson, Georgia.
At present, this busy intersection does not have a traffic signal. With new merchants opening during late 2006 and the planned opening in early 2007 of the largest Kroger store in Georgia, its very important that the citizens of Jefferson and the merchants of Loggins Corner work together to ensure that expedited action is taken by City officials and Georgia DOT to have a new traffic signal installed at this intersection. Hopefully, this will be done before the Kroger opens.

At their 11/21/06 meeting , the Jefferson City Council voted to proceed with submitting an application to GDOT to install the new signal. Details concerning how it will be funded is still an open issue.

Following are links to a series of correspondence concerning this issue. Please visit this page frequently to check for the latest project information and status.

You are encouraged to actively urge your local and state political representatives to fully support this critically needed  project.

Our goal is to keep this a "Cross Free" intersection!
